Meet Zirrea and Nyko, our new interns for the summer!

This summer, we’re thrilled to welcome two talented rising high school seniors, Zirrea and Nyko, to The Nap Time Show family through the Bloomberg Arts Internship Program Detroit! 🎉

The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) is a citywide initiative designed to connect creative high school students with meaningful work experience at arts and culture organizations throughout Detroit. Interns participate in workshops, professional development, and real-world projects that prepare them to lead, dream, and create with purpose. We’re proud to be a 2024 host site (orchestrated by CultureSource) and pour into the next generation of arts changemakers.

Zirrea and Nyko stood out from a competitive pool of students for their curiosity, insight, and imagination. From day one, they’ve brought thoughtful questions, fresh ideas, and a clear passion for storytelling. Whether it's sketching storyboards or dreaming up a new scene, they’re already making a meaningful impact.

🎬 What They’ll Be Doing

During their 7-week internship with us, Zee and Nyko will dive deep into what it takes to produce The Nap Time Show. Here’s a look at some of the incredible things they’ll be working on:

  • Co-writing a brand-new episode for our upcoming third season

  • Learning production skills from scripting to filming to directing

  • Contributing to Fruit Snack Streams, our calming content platform for childcare centers, by conducting interviews and helping shape its future

  • Collaborating on creative campaigns, visuals, and behind-the-scenes content

  • Supporting live performances, from puppetry to props to storytelling magic

They’ll also have the chance to connect with artists, animators, educators, and producers as they learn how media can be a powerful tool for both rest and representation.

💬 Stay Tuned!

We’ll be sharing updates from their journey throughout the summer — so keep an eye out for blog posts, social content, and maybe even a few sneak peeks into the creative process behind our next season. We can’t wait to see what they create.

Welcome to the team, Zee and Nyko! 🎥🧸✨
